North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo 2025-2026

North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo Nodal Cycle 2025-2026 - Life in the Astros

On January 11, 2025, our frame of focus shifts as a new chapter begins with the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo. The cycle governed by the lunar nodes marks an approximately 18 month long cycle where we will learn to better support our mind, body, and spirit. The nodal period of Pisces and Virgo will be one of transitioning, softening, and adapting.

With the North Node in Pisces, it isn’t about willpower or control, but our ability to meet life’s circumstances as they are. We may find that putting our faith in something higher than us is where we find the most freedom. Yet, the journey there involves tending to our internal and external ecosystems. It is through the South Node in Virgo that we learn to consider the needs of our bodies and physical environments. When we feel safe, grounded, and secure, we can then relax into that which we cannot control.

Both sides of the axis are important. If there is too much control, we are rigid and put stress on our physical vessels. Yet, if there is too little control, we can lose ourselves in aimless behaviors that deplete our energy rather than support it. The nodes will be in Pisces and Virgo from January 11, 2025 to July 27, 2026, giving us plenty of time to integrate the balance we are here to learn in this next chapter of life.

What will be covered in this post:

Qualities of the Pisces and Virgo axis

While Pisces and Virgo are opposites, they both share a lot in common. The mutable water sign, Pisces, and mutable earth sign, Virgo, both reside on the axis of service. Each sign cares about helping others, healing work, and seeing that efforts contribute to an important cause.

Virgo tends to put itself in the role of the service-provider. Characteristically, it will drive you to the airport, clean the house, and tell you step-by-step on how to improve your life. It focuses on bodily well-being and orients itself in herbalism, holistic and alternative medicine, and nervous system work. There is also a busyness to Virgo, as it is ruled by Mercury, and it enjoys keeping itself occupied with skill-based tasks. If you are ever in need of guidance, Virgo can see steps A to Z and will walk you through them all with personalized support. Virgo knows the significance of small details and tasks and by accomplishing those, it helps to support the bigger picture.

Pisces, on the other hand, is equally interested in offering service to others but it has a more spiritual bend to it. Characteristically, Pisces will facilitate immersive experiences that allow you to look within to find your answers. With Jupiter as its ruler, Pisces embodies the qualities of compassion and imagination. There is an emphasis on connection to the divine, emotional release, and introspective practices that help support the soul on an energetic level. Pisces holds an inspiring vision of a loving, unified, and serene world. It values paying it forward and altruism because it holds empathy for people. Thus, it believes that its efforts towards one are efforts that can ripple out towards all.

North Node in Pisces: Embracing Surrender and Creativity

The Energies of Pisces

When you arrive at the final sign of the zodiac, you meet Pisces: the bridge between this world and the universe. Pisces begins where life and all that is unclear about existence transcends the material plane. While the North Node is in Pisces, we will work on developing a sense of peace and trust in the order of the universe to flow as it should. Even when the tides seem rough, they always soften in time. The goal here is not to control fate, but to face life’s circumstances as they come up. We navigate uncertainty by remaining cognizant of the changeability of each moment.

During the North Node in Pisces, we may discover that there is more beyond the material world we exist in. Pisces seeks immersion into experiences that create a sense of belonging and wonder. This can come through as connecting deeply with others in a shared community, losing oneself in the beauty of nature, or engaging in spiritual practices that feel meaningful and transformative.

Lead with Love and Compassion

We learn to see beyond just the physical and embrace love and compassion. There is – and has always been – an interconnectedness of all beings. More and more, the things that have culturally or politically driven us apart may matter less than our character and values. The North Node in Pisces may teach us that it is what is on the inside that counts. We cultivate compassion by valuing the lives of all sentient beings – even the act of taking care of another person or animals can be very fulfilling to the soul.

We may develop greater interest in compassionate practices and causes that help decrease harm to the lives around us. Whether through charitable donations of money, time, or resources, we desire to make a positive difference. Love and compassion are qualities, but also a state of mind. A great practice to try is the “Love and Kindness” meditation. It is a short but impactful mantra based exercise to help cultivate feelings of kindness and goodwill towards ourselves and others. Compassion is not necessarily automatic in our current day and age. It helps to come back to basics and orient ourselves around the little ways we can spread love.

Explore and Nurture Spirituality

For some, the North Node in Pisces may be a reinstatement of religious faith or a discovery of spiritualism. We may find ourselves studying religious texts, attending faith services, or seeking out other avenues that inspire meaning. Spirituality is unique to each individual and it might be the time where you develop practices that resonate with you.

Tools like spiritual readings, tarot cards, or mediumship may grow in interest. For example, someone might begin by meditating to enhance their intuition or attending a workshop to explore tools like pendulums or oracle cards. At its simplest form, it could be a period of leaning into intuition and opening up to the unknown, the divine, and the universe. For those who are service providers within the realm of spiritual modalities already, the North Node in Pisces may bring growth to this industry overall.

A sense of belonging and spiritual fulfillment can be found through tapping into other worlds and planes of living. While this will not apply to everyone, The North Node in Pisces can cultivate fascination with life after death. It invites open-mindedness to explore realms beyond our current plane of existence. Perhaps uncovering family history, ancestral lineages, or cultural traditions, can help provide a tether through which to explore.

Mental Health and Healing Modalities

Another industry that will be experiencing growth is mental health and various forms of therapy. Subconscious work may be a growing focus with the North Node in Pisces, and the availability of mental health services can play a role. The most common form of therapy currently is CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), but other forms may grow in prominence, particularly somatic therapy and psychedelic therapy treatments. Research is still catching up on what these alternative treatments have to offer, but they serve to provide a wider way of reaching individuals in need of help.

It is not enough to just look at the body when obvious ailments are present. There is a need to look at what is going on beneath the surface. Journaling, shadow work, meditation, and subconscious reprogramming exercises are avenues that can be explored at little to no cost. It may be worthwhile to try starting your day with a brief meditation focused on setting an intention. Alternatively, shadow work practices invite you to look at what patterns in your life keep repeating, and what might they be trying to teach you. No matter what mental health services or tools draw appeal, the North Node in Pisces can encourage each of us to explore our emotional landscapes and deeper beliefs tied to them.

Creativity and the Power of Art

The North Node in Pisces inspires us to dream and act, turning visions into reality. Artists, poets, musicians, and anyone with creative inclinations can see inspiration arise from their unique experiences and emotions. The types of art that connect with people most at this time will be depictions of raw human experiences and complex emotions. More and more, we crave a profound sense of connection and understanding. Creating art helps make sense of Pisces’ complex emotional experiences. Everything from grief and sorrow to child-like wonder and fantasy can be portrayed in artistic mediums. The North Node in Pisces teaches us that every feeling can be alchemized for creative expression.

For the budding artists and musicians out there, it is worth taking the time to turn far-off imaginations into something tangible. Try signing up for classes that allow for exploration while learning more about the kinds of art that resonate at this time. As well, creating does not need to be for capitalistic purposes, but simply for the fun of it and because expressing oneself through art is deeply healing.

Art, as well, holds a vibration that naturally attracts kindred souls who need the same medicine. As we bravely share our vulnerability, our heart, and our stories (this is what art is at its core) we transcend. We, then, become a beacon of light and have the power to energetically support others, no matter the distance, to do the same.

Recap of North Node in Pisces Themes

  • Trust that life is unfolding as it should, even when things feel uncertain or unstable.
  • Dive into spiritual practices or tools that help you connect with something greater than yourself.
  • Develop compassion for yourself and others by recognizing the interconnectedness of all beings.
  • Take care of your emotional health by exploring shadow work, journaling, or therapy.
  • Create for the joy of it—art, music, or writing can be deeply healing and help you share your story.

It is worth noting that the North Node in Pisces is not a straight shot towards utopia. We must learn to balance the dreamy, intuitive energy with grounded action to avoid escapism or over-idealizing situations. To embody the visionary, empathetic, and transcendent qualities of Pisces, it might mean battling difficult or melancholic periods. The crippling nature of inertia and passivity are also areas to be cautious of that can keep dreams out of reach.

The South Node in Virgo, thus, becomes a crucial cultivator for physical and energetic foundations. When we do not have tools to healthily deal with difficult emotions, we are more likely to feel weighed down, or to check out of life, rather than remaining involved. Lean into body awareness and check in with yourself regularly. The only way to hold the bigger life that we envision with the North Node in Pisces is to feel safe and supported within ourselves. Let’s explore this further through the South Node in Virgo!

South Node in Virgo: Letting Go of Perfectionism

The Energies of Virgo

The South Node represents habits, patterns, and qualities we are encouraged to release or refine during its transit. With the South Node in Virgo, the focus shifts to shedding perfectionism, over-analysis, and the need to control every detail of life. Virgo is a sign of practicality, discernment, and service, but its shadow side can lead to burnout, self-criticism, and losing the bigger picture. This transit invites us to explore where we might be holding on too tightly to routines or unrealistic standards and encourages us to let go of what no longer serves our highest good.

It is worth noting that despite the South Node being where we let go, this is an energy we spend the majority of the nodal cycle learning. The South Node is, oftentimes, where we begin. So, you might notice that the following themes or descriptions are more relatable at the start of the nodal cycle, or even for the majority of 2025. The eclipses in Virgo actually extend beyond the South Node’s time in the sign, further highlighting how prominent Virgo energy will be in our own growth cycles.

Fixation on Obtaining Perfection

One of the key lessons of the South Node in Virgo is to release the idea that we can “fix” everything. Virgo loves to troubleshoot and solve problems, and sometimes that leads the sign to create problems. While Virgo is not one for dramatics, it can make a mountain out of a molehill when it is focused on obtaining a perfect result. It is constantly tinkering to find the outcome where all the stars align, but perfection is a never-ending cycle. We can aim for perfection with our work, schedules, weight, looks, diet, finances, and so much else, but the closer we get, the more the bar continues to escalate. During this transit, we may need to accept that not everything needs fixing and that seeking perfection is detrimental to our wellbeing.

The alternative to focusing on solving problems or finding things to fix is to learn adaptability. If you’ve been obsessively organizing your schedule to stay productive, try experimenting with flexibility. Allow for downtime or spontaneous moments without feeling like you’re failing. When it comes to appearance-based perfection, what would happen if you gave yourself wiggle room instead of rules and expectations? As well, you may be learning to accept the inevitability of imperfection. Imperfection exists in other people, situations, life, and ourselves, and finding peace with that is a big part of the journey of the South Node in Virgo.

Focus on Physical Health and Well-Being

Virgo rules the body, particularly digestion and overall health. With the South Node here, we are encouraged to reassess how we provide routine care for ourselves. What we nourish ourselves with matters – everything from nutrition to our daily habits can have cumulative effects on our health. While Virgo can easily occupy a whole day with dozens of small tasks, how essential are those tasks? We want to make sure we are investing our energy into the right things and not just keeping busy for busy’s sake.

The South Node here may bring awareness to habits that are too rigid or self-punitive. While this may not be everyone’s experience, the Virgo South Node can lead us to explore restrictive exercise or dietary plans. For example, obsessing over calorie counting, strictly regimented workout routines, or overly sanitized environments can create a sense of control but might also disconnect us from joy and balance. It may be that disordered eating behaviors rise, but there is hope of regaining balance and coming into a better relationship with our bodies.

It is so important not to compare your body or your experiences to anyone else’s. Each person is different and has different needs. This transit encourages shifting away from perfection-driven habits and toward approaches that honor your body’s unique needs and rhythms. It’s about tuning in rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all solution. If you’ve been following a strict meal plan or intense workout regime, consider shifting to intuitive eating or gentler forms of movement. Sometimes the thing that we have been avoiding is exactly what can help us find ease and balance.

Stress Relief and Nervous System Regulation

Virgo is deeply tied to the nervous system, which means stress and anxiety may come to the forefront during this transit. Virgo energy loves to stay busy, but this can tip into overdrive, leading to feelings of overwhelm or even burnout. The South Node in Virgo reminds us that a calm and regulated nervous system is foundational to overall health. We can address chronic stress by integrating practices that promote relaxation and nervous system balance. Letting go of the need to be “on” all the time and learning to rest can bring healing. This period may reveal where you’ve been neglecting rest or ignoring the signs of stress building up. It’s not just about cutting back on tasks; it’s about finding ways to create inner calm, even amidst the demands of daily life.

The best thing you can do to support your nervous system is to learn the language that it speaks. Get in touch with your body. So often, we look for external things to numb out with, but we need to take a pause and see what is going on inside. Somatic healing work is my favorite for this, and one person I’ve loved learning from is Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Sarah Baldwin. This is not sponsored, but I truly just love her work. Check out her podcast You Make Sense to learn more about balancing your nervous system.

Your nervous system is the core of your being and what brings you stability and safety. To support it further, incorporating activities that combat stress like: spending time in nature, going for a walk, journaling, deep breathing, EFT (tapping), progressive muscle relaxation, or listening to soothing sounds. Think of your nervous system as a muscle—it needs regular care and recovery to function optimally. These practices can start to show benefits soon after implementing, but supporting the nervous system is a slow and consistent work that can create big, long-term changes.

Being Content with “Good Enough”

Another theme of the South Node in Virgo is letting go of hyper-focus on minor details. Virgo energy often gravitates toward analysis and precision, but during this transit, we are asked to step back and see the bigger picture. This means recognizing when our attention to detail is productive and when it’s holding us back. At its worst, analysis can turn into paralysis. Overthinking every decision can prevent you from moving forward. The South Node in Virgo encourages trusting our instincts and leaning into the flow of life, especially when outcomes are uncertain. Plus, the most impactful results often come from consistency and heart rather than chasing unattainable ideals.

Where in your life can things be simplified? Constantly going above and beyond is extremely depleting because it is rooted in low self-worth. When we don’t feel good about ourselves, it can show up in perfectionism at work, endless to-do lists, or self-criticism that blocks progress. Stepping back to assess the “why” behind your actions can help redirect energy toward what truly matters. Declutter not just your physical space but also your mental load. Adopt tools like batching similar tasks, setting boundaries on overthinking, and giving yourself permission to stop before your cup is completely drained. If you’ve been agonizing over perfecting a project, ask yourself if the extra effort is truly adding value or if it’s a form of procrastination. Sometimes “good enough” is more than enough.

Balance Service and Self-Care

The values of service and humility are key to Virgo’s character. While these qualities are admirable, the South Node here may highlight where we’ve been over-giving or sacrificing too much of ourselves. While helping others can be rewarding, the South Node here asks us to reevaluate whether overextending ourselves is sustainable. Thus, learning to balance self-care with service to others becomes an important focus. It’s about understanding the difference between genuine acts of service and the compulsion to “earn” your worth by giving too much.

Take note of any ways you overextend yourself. If you find yourself always volunteering to take on extra responsibilities at work or in your personal life, ask yourself if you’re doing so out of joy or obligation. When you’ve been constantly putting others’ needs ahead of your own, try to practice saying “no” or carving out time just for yourself. Reclaiming time for activities that nurture your well-being, even if it is as simple as planning out an evening to recharge can work wonders on your energy. Balance service to others with self-care. Remember, you can’t pour from an empty cup, and tending to your own needs is an essential part of contributing to the world around you.

Final Words on the North Node in Pisces and South Node in Virgo Nodal Cycle

Picture your most idealized, serene, magical future where all that you dream of is possible. As beautiful as this image is, the greater visions may also seem overwhelming. It can even feel more comfortable to keep doing what is familiar. Over time, the discomfort of taking steps into new practices or habits proves to be less uncomfortable than staying the same.

As we each embark on our own revitalization process, we alchemize our hardships and can more sustainably help others through their challenges. We turn towards our learnings, artistic talent, and vision to create places and spaces for others to commune, be accepted, and transcend limitations. It might not be a utopia that we create, but we will be creating a world that is much more supportive of who we want to be in this life.

Ultimately, what the North Node in Pisces guides us towards is trust in the flow of life. Through treating ourselves with compassion and holding space for the process to unfold as it needs to, we cultivate connection with ourselves and the universe.
